Monaco join race to sign Mikel Obi from Chelsea
Although the Super Eagles midfielder has four years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, the Principality club are keen to add him to the likes of Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho, Ricardo Carvalho and James Rodriguez. The Nigerian is on extended break, after he participated in the FIFA Confederations Cup and in the event he has to leave, will also have Turkish giants Galasatary and Trabzonspor as possible destinations.
Monaco recently completed the deal for French midfielder Jeremy Toulalan, but backed by the financial clout of Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, they are willing to snap up Obi.
