Nigerian pilgrim dies after falling from 11th floor in Saudi Arabia

A female pilgrim from Bauchi State has been confirmed dead after she fell from the 11th floor of a building in Saudi Arabia.

Vice Chairman, Bauchi State Amirul Hajj team, Alhaji Yahaya Miya, who broke the sad news in Bauchi on Monday, at Hajj camp in Games Village, while interacting with newsmen prior to the departure of the sixth set of pilgrims to Gombe International Airport, said the lady, by the name Adamu Habibu fell from the high-rise and died instantly.

He said: "When we received the information, we investigated the incident and confirmed that one of our pilgrims called Adama Habibu, from Gamawa Local Government Area, fell from 11th floor of a building and died in Saudi Arabia."

Yahaya who is the Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, also said the State Government and the Hajj team had expressed great sympathy for the family over the loss of their loved one and had assured that all Bauchi State pilgrims were in good condition.

He further promised that the state Government would make the welfare of the pilgrims a priority.
