Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has stated his desire to work with Parma FC of Italy midfielder, Joel Obi, for the crucial Brazil 2014 World Cup final play-offs against the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia.
Obi is already out of the first leg, which comes up next month in Addis Ababa but Keshi has assured that the on-loan Inter Milan midfielder could get a look-in for the second leg billed for Calabar on November 16, 2013 if he remains injury-free.
Keshi, said he believes that the play-maker has the quality to pick a shirt in his star-studded squad that would battle Ethiopia for a highly-coveted Brazil 2014 slot.
"I will like to have Joel Obi in for the next game, but I have not seen or heard from him,"
"I have been asking after Joel Obi to know if he is in form. I will need him for our next match because he is a very talented player."
Joel Obi's last international match for Nigeria was on February 29, 2012 when Keshi led the Eagles against Uganda. Shortly after returning from his injury lay-off in July this year, Obi sent word from Italy to the country that he would be available for the final Group F World Cup qualifying game against Malawi but was not considered.
Meanwhile, the talented midfielder is expected to be in action in the Serie A game involving Parma and Atalanta.
Parma are not well placed on the League standings as they are currently third from the bottom, and would be keen to record their first win of the season having played four matches, managing just two draws and two losses.
